Facilities Description

The following document is intended to be suitable for inclusion in a grant submission, where information regarding Universities computing facilities is required.

Hardware Overview

The hardware operated by FSU's shared-HPC reflects the diverse research taking place on our campus. Leading-edge computing systems are bound together by common high-speed networks, a pair of large-scale parallel data storage systems, and a common user authentication mechanism.  The computing systems managed by HPC can be grouped into the following categories.

Hardware Performance

The current setup of 526 compute nodes at FSU HPC system was acquired during 3 different upgrade cycles. The theoretical peak performance of the complete system is 28.7 TeraFlops. To minimize downtime during these upgrades, extensive benchmarking of the whole system was put off and only parts where tested.

Hardware Allocations

The following tables show the hardware allocated to each of the HPC owner groups.
