Administrators from Florida State University and Dell Inc. will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week to display a dramatic advance in FSU's supercomputing capabilities.

The School of Computational Science (now DSC), the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies, and the Office of Technology Integration have developed a plan to replace the current FSU supercomputer with a new multidisciplinary HPC facility.

 
Dell, Inc. Selected to Provide FSU HPC Solution

The FSU HPC bid review panel unanimously selected Dell, Inc. to equip the new FSU HPC facility. Dell has a solid reputation in HPC and provided a solution that best fit FSU's HPC requirements.

 
FSU releases ITN for new HPC acquisition

An Invitation To Negotiate for the first installation of the new multidisciplinary HPC facility at FSU was released on February 27th.

 
Town Hall Meeting Planned to discusss new HPC

FSU faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend a Town Hall meeting on January 26th at 3PM in room 499 Dirac Science Library to discuss the management and hardware requirements of the new HPC facility. During this meeting, we will also discuss the management and maintenance of this new FSU resource and hope that participants will offer comments and suggestions so that we can design an HPC system that will serve a broad-base of research requirements.
