6. Create and edit a text file

To create a file first browse to the directory you in which you wish to create the file. In the Action pulldown menu select "New File". A dialog box will drop down and ask for the name of your new file. Enter a name and select "Create". Your new file should appear in the file listing inside of cyberduck. If it does not you may have to press the refresh button on the toolbar. Select your newly created file. In order to edit this file select "Open in Editor". An editor will open and you will be able to edit this file. When you are done editing close the file. There are some cases where the "Open in Editor" option is grayed out and unable to be selected. In this case you may first have to rename the file to give it a .txt extension. To rename a file select "Rename" from the action menu. You will then be able to add or remove a .txt extension or rename the file to anything else.
