A Very Gentle Introduction to LINUX and HPC |
|
This two-hour workshop is offered on different days throughout the semester. The workshop is intended to introduce users to some of the basic LINUX
concepts needed to run jobs on FSU's shared HPC system. More specifically the workshop will teach users how to:
- Log into HPC using the secure shell (SSH)
- Manage files on HPC using standard shell commands (mkdir, cd, cp, etc.), move files from your workstation/PC to the HPC file system using the secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP), and using standard Linux editors to make small changes to these files
- Start jobs on HPC using MOAB and submit jobs to the Condor cluster
- Manage jobs submitted to HPC and the Condor cluster
The following attachments are the slides used in the workshop.
