|ClustalX: an X11 interface to ClustalW|
ClustalX makes running ClustalW easier by providing a graphical user interface to the alignment program. It is not a multiple sequence editor though (see SeaView or GCG's SeqLab for that), so manual adjustment of the alignment is not possible. ClustalX is only installed on the HPC head nodes.
Using ClustalX on HPC
The command to launch ClustalX is its name all in lower case:
The ampersand, "&," is not required but allows you to maintain use of your terminal window by launching ClustalX as a background process. Help is available within the program and at the Strasburg site among many others. Be sure that you are connected to HPC with an X tunnelled ssh session, as ClustalX is an X11 application.
